Junior Section Coach the Coaches 1st Dec 2007
This was the second of the 'Coach the Coaches' sessions run by Rob & Gaz. It was good to see the Junior coaches taking it seriously and getting tucked into the exercises and mud!

Mackie Tournament 2008
The Micros fielded 2 squads on Saturday - the 'Garioch Pups' & the Garioch Cubs'. Both squads did really well and came second in their pools. The 'Pups' got into thesemi final (just ahead of their club mates the 'Cubs'). Unfortunately the 'Pups' got beaten by Wanderers in the semi-final (a team that they had already lost to earlier in the competition). All came away with a medal for their efforts/achievements. Of particular note was the excellent sportsmanship and good support/team play - real credit to all concerned and to the club. The players, parents, relatives, friends & coaches, helpers can be really proud. Watch out P4/5's (Scotland even) there is some great talent coming through! Please pass our thanks to our colleagues at Mackie for a very well run tournament. Steve/David/Ian

Aboyne Tournament May 2008
GARIOCH CUBS TRIUMPHANT AT THE ABOYNE MIRCO RUGBY TOURNAMENT The Garioch Cubs, one of 2 teams that the Garioch RFC Micros entered into the Aboyne tournament (the other was the Garioch Pups), won the Aboyne tournament. The Cubs narrowly beat the Mackie Reds in a closely fought final. The match seesawed backwards and forwards with Garioch eventually winning by 1 point/try. Both Garioch squads played some excellent rugby with some flashes of pure brilliance. The team play was good with some great sportsmanship too. Overall it was a great tournament with a good family orientated atmosphere - just how rugby should be. This was a fitting end to the season for all concerned (both on and off the pitch). Watch out P4/5's (and others, maybe even Scotland or other national sides) there's some great talent coming through. David/Ian/Steve
