Disclosure Scotland

This season we are delighted to that so many parents have volunteered to help/assist with Garioch Micros & Minis. It is a legal requirement that all club helpers go through the Disclosure Scotland process. All volunteers, even those who help out part time, need to complete the form. Please bring with you: Birth Certificate, passport, driving license and proof of home address in the form of bill or statement. It is all quite painless, takes about 10 minutes to complete, the club pays for it and it all helps towards the cause.

The Garioch RFC Child Protection Officer Shonagh Thom will be in the Club House on Saturday.    shonagh.thom@googlemail.com

Training Requirements

Clothing

A child should attend training wearing appropriate sport clothing:

  • Rugby jersey
  • Shorts or training trousers
  • Socks
  • Rugby or football boots. Boots should have metal studs. Blades and moulded souls are not permitted.
  • Water bottle

As we move into winter in addition a child should have:

  • Woolly beanie or scrum cap
  • Light weight waterproof top
  • Training gloves

Every child (P4-P7) must have (and wear) a mouth guard. No mouth guard means no training. This rule will be strictly applied by referees at tournaments. Micros (P1-P3) rugby is non-contact and a mouth guard is not mandatory. No jewellery including watches.

Please ensure that your childs possessions are labeled.

Club jerseys and a variety of other good quality training items are available at the club shop. Branded shorts and training tops will be available by the end of October.

DF Sports, in Inverurie, now have a stock in place of GRFC rugby socks in junior, youth and senior sizes

Bad Weather

Training will only be cancelled in extreme weather conditions. Please check the website and your email in the morning before setting out.
