Garioch Schools & Community Development Plan 2011/12

Garioch RFC will expose children to exciting, fun team based games during curriculum sessions, whilst teaching them the skills to participate in their festival/tournament at the end of the block of coaching. The intent is that this will encourage children to get active and involved at Garioch RFC, thereby increasing numbers playing regular contact rugby at the Club. After schools contact rugby sessions will also run to provide another pathway to the rugby club. The main aim for this season is to develop strong S1 squads from the work we have delivered in primary schools from which we will took to recruit player to the club game and develop our own S1 squad.

With the assistance of our sponsors, the SRU, SPORTSMATCH and ADP we are able to employ a full time RDO, an SVQ and 2 part-time coaches to primarily conduct schools coaching, but work on establishing the links between all the schools and the Club via after schools clubs, festivals, tournaments and rugby camps.
