Schools Coaching
Season 2007 - 2008 has seen a massive progression in Garioch RFC's Schools Coaching initiative. For the second succesive year, Garioch RFC has again provided coaching to about 19 Primary schools and the 3 academies of Inverurie, Kemnay and Meldrum, only this year, we have been able to provide this completely free of charge to the schools.
Special thanks are extended to Lawrence of Kemnay which has provided 2 x loan cars for our coaches and to the following companies which has put funding into the Club to allow this to happen:
Baker Oiltools, Protech Centreform, Ferguson Modular, Dynamic Equipment Company, Tawse Tyres and IKM Inspection.
We have also been greatly assisted by the Scottish Rugby Union which allowed us to enhance and continue the programme.
In term one and two, we were able to provide 640hrs of coaching and in term 3 about 190hrs. In term 4 we have a schedule for 30 hrs per week.

Schools Festivals
In November, the Club held its Tri-academy Tournament which was won by Inverurie.
Garioch RFC hosted a World Cup Schools Rugby Festival on Tuesday October 9th 2007 and it was a chance for children from six Inverurie primary schools to show off their Rugby talent after first term rugby coaching.
Students from Kellands Primary, Strathburn Primary, Chapel of Garioch Primary, Hatton of Fintray Primary, Keithhall Primary and Market Place Primary participated in an afternoon of tag rugby which has been a part of their first term PE curriculum courtesy of a school's coaching initiative run by Garioch RFC.
12 teams each played 5 games of tag rugby in a festival to celebrate the Rugby World Cup 2007 and everyone showed just how well they have picked up the skills of Rugby throughout the term.
Congratulations to everyone who participated on the day and who played with great a great spirit of fair play.
Everyone was declared a winner and returned to school with a small Scotland Rugby Ball and poster!
